Rug Cleaning

Rug Cleaning Frisco, TX

Area rugs and oriental rugs take a different kind of care than wall-to-wall carpet — different fibers, different construction, and usually a lot more sentimental or financial value riding on getting it right. We clean rugs in-facility, with a full multi-step process, not a quick on-the-spot spray-and-vacuum.

Our In-Facility Rug Cleaning Process

1

Inspection & Colorfastness (Bleed) Testing

Before anything else, we test the rug’s dyes for colorfastness. This tells us whether the rug can safely go through a full wet cleaning or needs a more careful, specialized approach — skipping this step is how rugs get permanently damaged.

2

Dusting

Most people are surprised how much dry soil comes out of a rug before it ever touches water. We run rugs through dedicated dusting equipment to remove deep, embedded dry soil first — if this step is skipped, that soil just turns to mud once the rug gets wet, and it drags the whole cleaning down.

3

Bath Cleaning & Solution Dwell Time

The rug goes into a wash tub with a cleaning solution matched to its fiber type, and we let it dwell so the solution has time to actually work rather than just sitting on the surface.

4

Rinse & Centrifuge Extraction

After washing, rugs are rinsed and go through centrifuge extraction to pull out excess water — this is a meaningfully more thorough water removal step than anything possible cleaning a rug in place on your floor.

5

Fringe Cleaning & Grooming

Fringe gets its own attention — gently cleaned and groomed back into shape, since it’s usually the first part of a rug to look worn or discolored.

6

Controlled Drying

Rugs dry in a controlled environment using fans and dehumidification, not left to air-dry unevenly, which helps prevent shrinkage, color bleeding, and musty odor from trapped moisture.

Types of Rugs We Clean

Oriental & Persian Rugs

Hand-knotted rugs need gentler handling and dye-safe solutions; colorfastness testing matters most here.

Wool Rugs

Natural fibers that hold soil differently than synthetics and need the right dwell time to clean without damaging the fiber.

Synthetic & Machine-Made Area Rugs

Generally more forgiving, but still benefit from full dusting and centrifuge extraction over a quick in-home cleaning.

Why In-Facility Beats On-the-Floor Rug Cleaning

A rug cleaned in place on your floor can only be surface-treated — there’s no way to fully dust it, bath-soak it, or centrifuge-extract it without moving it to dedicated equipment. That’s the difference between a rug that looks refreshed and one that’s actually been deep cleaned.

Rug Cleaning FAQs

How long does rug cleaning take?

Because rugs go through a full wash-and-dry cycle in-facility rather than being cleaned in place, turnaround is typically a few days rather than same-day — we’ll give you an accurate timeline for your specific rug when we pick it up.

Is it safe to clean an oriental or antique rug this way?

Yes, when it starts with proper colorfastness testing. That step is exactly what protects an antique or high-value rug from dye bleeding or damage during cleaning.
